✨ THE STORY
Istanbul has mornings that feel like a secret—before the city fully wakes up, when the Bosphorus is quiet and every reflection looks like a painting. That day in Ortaköy, the sun rose into autumn clouds and suddenly the whole sky ignited, throwing warm light across the water and onto the stone silhouette of the mosque.
What makes this one of my best works is the balance inside the frame: the small boat tied to the pier in the foreground—simple, human, real—while the bridge stretches behind it, connecting Europe and Asia like a single line across the horizon. It’s a photograph about scale and intimacy at the same time: Istanbul’s iconic landmarks, and one calm boat holding the morning still.
